Appraisal Service
Divorce Appraisals
A neutral, independent valuation of the marital residence to support property-division discussions.
How this service works
Dividing a home is often one of the hardest parts of a divorce. My role is narrow and neutral: I develop an independent, supportable opinion of value as of the date required for your matter. I do not advocate for either party, and my fee never depends on the outcome.
When this service may be a fit
- Both parties need one neutral opinion of value rather than competing estimates
- An attorney or mediator has requested a written appraisal
- A buy-out of one spouse's interest is being considered
- A value is needed as of a particular date rather than today
What to expect
- Step 1I confirm the intended use, intended users and the effective date needed
- Step 2I schedule the inspection with the party who has access to the property
- Step 3I analyze the relevant market data for the neighborhood and property type
- Step 4I deliver the written report to the parties or advisors identified in the assignment
Important limits on this service
- I am not an attorney and I do not provide legal advice about your case.
- I cannot promise a particular value, a particular outcome, or that any court or third party will accept a report.
